Putting social value at the heart of inclusive growth
A new report by Social Enterprise UK (SEUK), revealed that an estimated 45 per cent of councils now have a social value procurement policy, compared to just 25 per cent in a 2016 survey by the organisation. It also found that 42 per cent of councils said that social value has reduced social inequalities and 82 per cent believe that social value drives higher levels of growth.
The report calls on public bodies to use social value more strategically, taking it out of the procurement silo where it is too often found and embedded across council’s operations.
